All golfers in HFRS are welcome to play in these events. If you are not a member of the golf section you can still play in these competitions as a guest of the section, however non section members will not be eligible for prizes or qualification points. Hopefully after attending our golf days it will inspire more people to join.

The events listed below go towards Order Of Merit Points. They are also the qualifying events for competitions such as the Sheriff's Cup & Interto Cup.

Intoto Cup

The Intoto Cup is a district event where HFRS Golf Section will be represented by a team of four players. There is no handicap limit for this event. To qualify for the team the HFRS order of merit is used (7rounds) & selection is based on the previous years performance + the first two events of the year in which the competition will be played. There are 9 points qualifying rounds in total of which your best 6 scores will count. (you must have played in a minimum of six events to qualify)

The team will be based on the four highest points scorers in the order of merit minus any player who has qualified for the Sheriffs Cup. (one player cannot play in both vents)
In the event that a player qualifying for the Sheriffs Cup cannot play in that event, he will move down to an Intoto Place

Four Nations/Luxfor/England v Scotland

There is no handicap limits to play & compete in the District events for the District Title.
Qualifying for the Four Nations match is usually the top two 16 & below handicapper in the First District Event
Qualifying for the England v Scotland match is usually the best placed 14 & below handicapper in the Second District Event. For the England Scotland match the 1st & 2nd placed sub 16 handicappers get to play.

Luxfor
The Luxfor Trophie is a District team event consisting of 3 players. The team is made up from
1 x cat 1 player (scratch - 9 handicap)
1 x cat 2 player (10 - 18)
1 x cat 3 player (19+)

How to Qualify

Sheriffs Cup 2009 Qualification will be the same as for 2008

Sheriffs Cup 2010, The Sheriffs Cup is a national event where HFRS Golf Section will be represented by a team of four players. There is a handicap limit of 16 for this event. To qualify for the team points are awarded at our internal events & selection is based on the previous years performance. There are 9 points qualifying rounds of which your best 6 scores will count. (you must have played in a minimum of six events to qualify)

All other National Events.
The Pairs, stableford & Singles competitions have no qualifying competitions. However we are limited to the number of players/teams we can enter for these competitions. In the event that several people apply to play in the national events, priority will be given to players who have supported the golf section the previous year based on how many times they played for the Service from the previous season.

To Qualify for the luxfor team you must play in one of the District Events
The Luxfor Trophie is a District team event consisting of 3 players. The team is made up from
