National Events Costing 2012

If you are considering entering any of this year’s National Events please take a look at the expected financial commitment required. I have put this together because I realise that times are hard for everybody & the cost of these events may sway your decision to play.

Please also note that the use of service transport is not always included, we are still very fortunate in Herts that the Service will provide transport where absolutely necessary but we must be aware that the Service are looking at cutting cost as well so in some events it may be down to us to make our way there.

Sheriff’s Cup, Falkirk Golf Club 20th – 22nd June 2012

Historically the team has made it’s own way to the venue. Be aware, this is a long day with an early start & normally a late finish after the presentation.

£70 per person

Transport

As this is a local event I would ask the teams to use own transport.

Food

Normally some catering is included in the entry fee on competition days.

Hotels

I have not looked into accommodation as it is a local event & will be up to the players to decide to weigh up the costs between staying overnight or travelling on both days.

£140 pp. This is an all-inclusive price. 36 Holes Food, Hotel, Entry to raffles & the trick shot show at the end of Day 1.

How to Qualify

District Events / National Qualifiers

Intoto Cup

Points are earnt during the course of the season of HFRS events. Nine events have qualification points as well as order of merit points.
Qualification is taken from the best six scores from nine events. The top four points scorers will qualify minus any player who has qualified for the Sheriffs Cup. (one player cannot play in both vents)
In the event that a player qualifying for the Sheriffs Cup cannot play in that event, he will move down to an Intoto Place

Four Nations/Luxfor/England v Scotland

There is no handicap limits to play & compete in the District events for the District Title.
Qualifying for the England matches is usually the best placed 14 & below handicapper in these events. For the England Scotland match the 1st & 2nd placed sub 16 handicappers get to play.

Luxfor
The Luxfor Trophie is a District team event consisting of 3 players. The team is made up from
1 player 0-9
1 player 10 - 18
1 player 19 & above

National Events

Sheriffs Cup :
The Sheriffs Cup is a national event where HFRS Golf Section will be represented by a team of four players. There is a handicap limit of 16 for this event. To qualify for the team points are awarded at our internal events & selection is based on the previous years performance. There are 9 points qualifying rounds of which your best 6 scores will count. (players that have completed the 6 rounds will be considered first for qualification) If there are not enough people with six counting scores then we will look further down to the players with 5 scores & so on

All other National Events.
The Pairs, Stableford & Singles Competitions have no qualifying criteria although a maximum handicap of 18 is applicable. However we are limited to the number of players/teams we can enter for these competitions. In the event that several people apply to play in the National Events, a draw will be held to decide the teams at the begining of the year. If you would like to be entered into the draw you will be asked for an expression of interest in January & the draw will take place at our first event. (Normally Feb)
